§ 74.05. CLEARING OF DISMANTLED, ABANDONED, OR INOPERABLE MOTOR VEHICLES OR PARTS FROM PRIVATE PROPERTY.

  • (A) The City Manager is hereby authorized and empowered to notify the owner or the agent of the owner of any property within the city to properly dispose of dismantled, partially dismantled, inoperable, or abandoned motor vehicles or parts located upon the owner’s property which are dangerous to the public health, safety, or welfare. The notice shall be by registered mail with return receipt requested and addressed to the owner at his or her last known address.
    (B) Upon the failure of any owner to properly dispose of dismantled, partially dismantled, inoperable, or abandoned motor vehicles or parts within 30 days after receipt of written notice provided for in division (A) of this section, or within 30 days after the date of the notice in the event the same is returned to the City Post Office Department because of its inability to make delivery thereof, provided that the same was properly addressed to the last known address of the owner or agent, the Manager is authorized and empowered to pay for the disposing of the dismantled, partially dismantled, inoperable, or abandoned motor vehicles or parts or to order its disposal by the city.
